As a leaned being, who engage in interactions in our society, we all know the meaning of respect, which simply means an act of politeness.
Many people go a long way in defining respect.
Respect is not always all about the the younger ones respecting their elders. Repect has a long path.
Respect should be vice versa.
The elders should in return create an opportunity for the younger ones to earn respect.
Respect can not be measured in some instance.
Even the bible related to this: Do unto others as you would
have them do unto you. A command based on
words of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount : “All things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you , do ye even so to them.” The Mosaic law contains a parallel commandment: “Whatever is hurtful to you , do not do to any other person.”( Matthew 7:12 ).
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” Fathers,
DO NOT PROVOKE YOUR CHILDREN TO ANGER, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.( Ephesians 6:1-4).
Some people might ask,
Does your children deserve respect?
Well yes they do.
Even if he/she is your kid, there should always be an atom of respect.

Is there a stage where by one’s respect will be withdrawn or denied?
The answer is yes.
There are some situations were one will be denied respect either as a result of a terrible act he/she had committed or a legal/constitutional order in a country or so.
Will there be a stage,a parent will lose respect?
As teens/youths who are still living life or wants to, there would be a situation where your child feels you are buggy and they express how they feel, or maybe as a parent, your child tries to express how he/she feel, which might be in an offensive tone and sound disrespectful.
Generally, there are words to be used on people so as not to arouse anger or mannerless attitudes.

Try as much as possible to be less pejorative when talking to people, especially younger one’s.
Try to be polite, remember, Every elder was once young, so there should be certain words to be overlooked when commented by a younger fellow.

Everywhere you go, anyone you come across,do a nice and benefiting job by being respectful.
